| In its current location since 1979, the
Mozart, for almost half a century, had a reputation as a watering
hole for Pueblo’s powerbrokers and politicians. They would often
stop at the Mozart to hear the latest gossip in addition to enjoying
the atmosphere, award winning steaks, and the lively bar. It was a
hangout for newspaper people, lawyers, the courthouse crowd, city
officials, and Pueblo’s most influential businessmen.
After almost five decades, the owning family of the Mozart retired
to enjoy the fruits of their labors. They closed its doors in September
of 2007, and no restaurant or bar has taken its place. The various
fast food restaurants in the area cannot replace the Mozart Restaurant
and Lounge.
One of the many reasons the Mozart enjoyed this success is because
of its location. It is surrounded by busy government and office
buildings and even a playhouse theatre. The foot traffic is especially
tremendous! Priced to sell, the Mozart presents a unique opportunity
to get back its regular clientele and gain new ones as well.
